Press Release
Precision power, matched by stunning looks and inspirational sound is the Cobra Sport promise for Vauxhall's sensational VXR. A totally engineered performance exhaust designed and manufactured to uncompromising standards of quality and excellence brings a totally involving driving experience on both road and track.
Compared with the standard factory-fit exhaust, Cobra Sport delivers stunning performance gains. With the Cat-Back System on its own the power increases from 264 bhp to 280.5 bhp. Upon testing the turbo back system with sports cat and non-resonated centre section and stage 2 re-map, produced an eye watering 43 bhp advantage and 42 ft-lb increase.
Weight is a serious consideration in development of the performance exhaust, with the Cobra Sport De-cat back system weighing in at just 24.14 kg, this is a substantial 21% decrease when compared to the OE system's 30.58 kg.
Great sound comes as standard with Cobra Sport. The unbelievable resonated sound quality is pitch perfect, behind the wheel or on the start line. Yet under load, part throttle or idle the volume is only marginally higher than a standard exhaust. Cobra Sport brings over four decades of innovative design and unparalleled manufacturing expertise to a range of performance exhausts that match the aspirations of the most demanding driver.
Unrivalled quality is the hallmark of every Cobra Sport exhaust. Sheffield manufactured T304 Grade Stainless Steel is the heart of every system. Each exhaust is engineered to the highest tolerances. Mandrel bending of the stainless steel tubes ensures clean airflow. Jig manufacturing and TIG welding procedures ensure great looks and a superlative finish. Total precision throughout means that Cobra Sport performance exhausts are a perfect first-time fit.
